I find it funny that many men in America and Japan don't like to use swimming trunks (tight fitting); it's kinda unfair (to the girls). They (the girls) are always with nice bikinis or one-piece swimsuits, but the guys use shorts, like in this picture. Come on! I don't know if it's a trend among young men only or if it's common to all ages. I'm from Brazil and the men here always use swimming trunks (tight fitting) at the beach and pool. Here in the Netherlands everyone also used to wear the tight ones but then at some point (maybe 20 years ago or so?) people got shy and adopted the baggy ones.

Now the tight ones are very looked down upon, especially among youth.

I did always suspect that this big change in attitude came over from the USA. Pubic hair on females is another example. A few decades ago it was exceedingly common, also in erotica. but now people have done a full 180 on it and the general consensus seems to be (again, especially among youth) that it is utterly repulsive.

As I said before, here in Brazil it's very common, both at beaches and pools. But there is a specific age among men that they don't like to use them (because they are shy), and that's when they are teenagers. It's common to see young boys with tight fitting swimming trunks, but when they reach their teens, they become shy to show their bodies and start to use board shorts (it's just a phase); then after they become young adults, they come back to using tight fitting swimming trunks again and they use them for the rest of their lives. :) But not all teenagers pass through that phase, some never use board shorts for swimming.

Regarding pubic hair for females, you are right, it was common 10-20 years ago, but now I think it's a world consensus to shave (except in Japan :P). But, on the contrary to what you said that happened in the Netherlands about people abandoning the tight fitting swimming trunks for the baggy ones (that was regression, in my point of view), I think that the general consensus to shave is a good change. Thank God that it happened! Haha. I'm one of them that find bush pubic hair repulsive; the less the better, and bald is the best. :)

Here in Brazil even 10-20 years ago the bush was already looked down upon. Most women trimmed at that time. It all begun when women started to shave their groins, for the pubic hair to not show up out of the bikini; and then over the years they started to decrease the size of the pubic hair more and more until it was completely bald, haha. Now it's a world tendency. Thank God! It's not only beautiful, but it's also practical in many ways. :)

Shoot, all those men are stupid then if they don't have to courage to show off their bods. I got used to tight fitting swimwear when I joined the swim team in high school. Wore it at the beach once and holy shit I had girls coming to me. I am not kidding the girls literally came up to me "just to chat."
