Exemplary BAD lighting. Her hand is on a well-lit surface. Her thigh is next to a well-shaded surface.Should the skin look any different? Nope, visual novels dictate that sprites on backgrounds are mighty fine.

Seems it's hell for them to create more than three variations of a character's sprite.
