More than 17k+ tagme posts. We need to do something about the TQ.
I'll stay out of this, as my view isn't popular.

The Tagme Question.
Is the problem stemming from the lack of artist tags on posts (too much upload without any artist/circle info) or is problem coming the lack of tagging in general?
I think artists are more important.

… says one of those who never tag any picture they post here.

I'll end this by saying you sure do talk a lot for someone who doesn't contribute scans to this site. I'll leave you to have the last word.

Yeah, for start the ability to search if a tag type is present should be implemented already.
What do you expect lol. The only solution is either mandatorily requiring uploaders to tag their posts (like Danbooru), or having enough volunteers to help so. We have neither.

it doesn't help when two of the most "fruitful" uploaders don't do tag at all.

To be honest I've given up, if uploaders don't want to take care the obvious tagging themselves. It's pointless. It's waste of my time to do all these daily site maintenances, together with pool names, artist DB, tag aliasing, etc. etc (at least we have moonian to help with majority of the general tags).

To help clean up is one thing, to do MOST of them is another. It's tiring and most importantly, after all the effort, it's still a mess. It's really disencouraging when things can never been "done" because new mess comes at a faster speed.

I still say we should we should lose the general tags, and focus on artists, circles, copyrights, characters and faults.

If the site wants to force me to use general tags, them I'll stop uploading. I have little time to source the scans, upload and tag pointless items.

It can take time to research even the basic tags like artist etc which is why specialists like moonian, and the other taggers, are best placed to tag them.
You could try outsourcing such to regular users.
For example, set a cookie to expire once in an hour and require a tag contribution to continue using the site. :P

Of course, this is easier said than done, and someone would still have to monitor the additions/changes.
