Yume, I assume you know what you're doing but I've got to ask:

Is there a reason for adding the work's kana title to the source field instead of just creating a new copy tag for it and linking to whatever site the author first posted their doujinshi on?

I'm genuinely curious.
I'm not him but

For this kind of one-off product, it isn't worth it. Not like we're going to have more images from it.

Also, most of people don't know Japanese enough to make Romaji of it to begin with.

>to whatever site

I think it's better this way. This is the title of the product. If it has an official site, I'd say that works too. But most of time, there are just batch of links from online stores (like DMM, DLsite) or author's SNS. You can't really say which one is "more official". A name that is unique enough (like this one) works perfectly if people want to look for source.
So, if I'm getting it right, this is a way of dealing with obscure/unique works that allows us to properly identify those and where they come from while also saving up tag space, with the added benefit of allowing people who might become interested in getting more of such products to avoid hitting a wall because of the obscurity and/or language barrier. "You want more of this one-off stuff? Here's the original name; look it up yourself".

It makes sense; it's elegant and efficient.

And yes. You're totally right about being able to find the source with the unique kana titles alone. That's exactly what helped me identify Yume's most recent posts as I was tagging them, despite being a noob when it comes to doujinshi/Japanese myself.

Thanks Fire!
Just to be clear: if someone wants to put in effort and tag them with properly romanized name, it's totally ok (to do so). Just that we can live without them too.

Understood.
