I changed the copyright from 'dc comic' to 'aquaman' because, well, DC Comics is not the name of the media where she appears in, it's the studio's name, so it should be applied only as a circle (in official DC works), but not as copyright. I also removed this tag as a copyright from other posts.

In this case, it should probably be changed to a Circle-typed tag, and be used only in official images.
marvel as well as dc_comics are used to characters, etc. from the franchise/universe, not the studio's official art. So they are supposed to be copyright type.

Think "fate" (well we tagged as "fate/stay_night" but that's for historical reasons..)

Yes, that's what I said. The circle tag "dc_comics" already existed, but it was sometimes incorrectly applied to posts that were not official works.

It's not the same. "Fate" -- or "fate/stay_night" -- is the name of the media where the characters appear in, so it's correct to use it as the copyright tag. But "marvel" and "dc_comics" are not the name of the media, they are the studios' names. I think they should be used as circle tags only (for official works), not as copyright tags. It would be the same as using "type-moon" as a copyright tag for Fate characters, it's not correct. It's used as a circle tag. The copyright tags for DC characters should be: "aquaman", "batman", "justice_league", etc.; and for Marvel characters: "spider-man", "x-men", "avengers", etc. But not "marvel" and "dc_comics", as they are the studios' names, not the name of the media, like "fate/stay night". Well, that's just my opinion; I'll understand if you disagree. :)

I see your point though, tagging all DC and Marvel characters into one copyright tag does have its benefits. If you disagree to what I said above, I propose another thing then: creating two tags for Marvel and for DC Comics; one for the studio (circle tag) and one for the universe (copyright tag). Let's say: "dc_comics_(studio)" and "dc_comics_(universe)"; and "marvel_(studio)" and "marvel_(universe)".

They're not currently used that way here, from what I'm seeing at least. That's just an observation, not trying to say which way is better.

they are the studios' names, not the name of the media
It could be both. Originally, of course, they're the name of the studio. But people refer Spider-man etc. as "Marvel characters" all the time, so I'd say it's definitely can be the name of the media/universe.

Let's say: "dc_comics_(studio)" and "dc_comics_(universe)"; and "marvel_(studio)" and "marvel_(universe)".
I agree with these tag names, if we're going to have both. But I'm not sure if we need that many tags.

"Circle" type tag is originally designed for doujin circles and that only. It was later expanded to commercial companies, but I don't think we're going to, or need to, use them extensively. Normally copyright tags are sufficient.

Same can be said to "marvel" (universe) tag too, but it looks like it has quite a lot of crossover arts which makes me think we can keep it.

OK, I'll keep that in mind. I think I actually haven't seen any official Marvel or DC works here, anyways.

We can keep what? The "marvel" tag the way it is now? OK.
