Yes, spoilers are bad. Though honestly, that's not much of a spoiler. It doesn't take very long to figure out that he spoilerhates his father, though I suppose that he doesn't outright say that he wants to kill him for a while.

Pretty much anything beyond the beginning of episode 1 of a series would be a spoiler. Definitely most anything beyond episode 1 would be. The sole exception perhaps would be something which is so much part of the premise or show description that pretty much anyone would know it before watching in it. Really, the question is whether knowing it before you watch the show would spoil anything. And being told who Lelouch is exactly or what he's after before you even watch would definitely be a spoiler.
