If you honestly thought this was enlarged I guess I won't upload the rest of this set
Well, I've undeleted it, and checked again. It is horribly resized...

Are the other scans like this?
Hang on. Are you telling me that you enlarged this from a pack of cards? http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/372353
I scanned it from a pack of cards. This is how it turns out. To be honest, I wasn't going to post them until I learned how to improve them but I thought maybe others would like to have them as well. So I posted one to see what would happen. No worries, I know I have to improve them so I'll wait until I can before I post them.

So you enlarged it then?
No it's right off the scanner with a bit of noise reduction and blurring and sharpening.
Unless the image isn't displaying correctly on my screen, then something has gone wrong with the scan. Look closely at it, and compare it to some of the other scans on the site.

If that is a scan of a card, it certainly isn't 1:1
What do you mean "1:1"? It looks like a straightforward 600 DPI scan. Not much point to leaving it at that resolution, but ordinary enough...
Ignore my 1:1 remark (I really need to get my terminology correct)

It may be a straightforward 600 DPI scan but it just looks like a scan gone wrong. (No insult meant Wraith)

None taken. If it were 1:1 scale size it would be too small to post here. The cards' actual size is about 9cm x 6cm. I didn't resize figuring there would be others who might like to fix it up. I should have added the tag 'fix me' to it and posted where I got the scan from.
Don't worry about hurting my feelings ... I haven't got any ... hehehe. You can delete this if you want but it'll probably show up here again if it stays on MT and AP. I thought they'd get deleted there too but they might be slower in reaction than you. As soon as my new computer shows up, I'll have one to dedicate towards fixing scans and using photoshop.
Seems no point in deleting it again.
If you think of "resolution" in terms of DPI, rather than image dimensions (that's what resolution actually means), things make more sense. A high-resolution, 300 DPI scan of a postage stamp might only be 200x300 (not that we'd want postage stamps :).

That said, the oddness of this scan is fairly common in small sources; eg. post #37743: straight horizontal and vertical lines are jagged, where in most images, lines like that are solid and smooth, no matter how far you zoom in. I don't know if it's just a lower source DPI, or a different printing process, or what.

Wraith, could you scan them at 600 dpi non filtered?
I might give you some suggestion about scanning/editing :)
Oops missed your comment midzki. I have a bunch scanned already. I can post them none filtered if anyone wants to try and fix them up and they can be deleted later or I can put them on mediafire ...
Would recommend uploading to mediafire.
