about 4 years agoBesides the vulgar definition as "penis", the word "piel" apparently innitially meant "arrow", which is a slight departure from the meaning of the original Roman word.
Funnily enough, the usage of "piel" as "arrow" has been completely phased out in Dutch and been replaced by "pijl" (which may be similar in writing but has a pretty different pronunciation, like the English word 'pile') while the vulgar meaning is still understood.
