Cleaned it right. When the quality is as bad as from this post it's okay to clean it. At least that is what I understand from Fireattack.
my opinion
That aren't jpeg artifacts (not only). It's called blocking. There is still an other name for it I think. And for me, it doesn't look nice when you zoom in. All the squares over squares ruins the image.
Oh come on, it's not that bad. Let's stop the trend of touching up digital releases
I'm sorry that I care about the quality. It's not like he posted it and I uploaded a cleaned version. I've extra checked if someone uploaded it before me.

But now that we all don't care about quality, I will not check images before upload anymore just like all the others.
We don't need these 3rd party modified versions, simple like that. You think you're improving it, but someone else may think you're ruining the details.

The fact is you can't magically make a image better quality out of thin air. There is always trade-off. So where do we draw the line with such subjective things?

Let's draw it at that you upload and only upload the original images for digital releases.
By the way I don't care (or even notice) who uploads first. I just copied and uploaded the original URL again and see which one matched, and kept it.

Understood. And as I said. I do not care for the quality anymore. Just upload the original images and that's it.
