Fixed a few spots I missed...
good :)
after fixed careless mistakes, you can try to improve quality of every single elements. let me point out one of them.
dutchago, do you have a pen-tablet? and the application you're using is good at painting? like blend color, blurly paint, painting adding noise texture, e.t.c...
do you notice color disalignment of stitched area of this image?

I don't actually have a pen-tablet. I have a sneaking suspicion re-drawing lines would be far easier with one. I use Corel PhotoPaint - a lot of artists use it and are happy with it, so I suspect any failings are undoubtedly with me, not the program. I've used Photoshop a bit, and it seems to be reasonably feature-compatible with it.

And yes, I had do to a lot of work to align the two colored areas of the image. Ultimately, I got them much closer than they were (look at the original scans to see how bad they were to start with), but I was never able to get them perfectly matched. So yeah, you can see girl's stocking go from purple on the left to blue on the right. Or the stripes on the top of the jacket turn a bit more greenish on the right. But I couldn't seem to get those elements adjusted without negatively impacting things like the jacket color, for example. In the end, I had to compromise with a few elements. Any ideas here?
if you have enough time & skill, then you can do anything with anytools. but this image is too hard to fix even for me if I have no choice anything but mouse. Nailing down what you can do is one of important skill.
to say hornestly, learning hand drawing/painting skill takes you few weeks ~ few monthes. and while learning it, you may not concentlate others.
take it easy, don't rush to get the result :)
