These are athlete/competition swimsuits (i.e. the "競泳水着" mentioned in the source), not school swimsuit.

「競泳水着」に相応するタグがないので、"school swimsuit"に含まれると誤解していました。

I see.
do we even need a school_swimsuit tag?
wouldnt 1piece_swimsuit and 2piece_swimsuit be tidier?

with the existence of school_swimsuit it follows that latex_swimsuit, highcut_swimsuit and competition_swimsuit all have grounds for being added.

a shibarikini tag would be of personal interest.

Useful for those who like or want to see those typical navy blue one or two-piece swimsuits, and not the other types.
That aside, certain people here claims about removing all general tags, but even if “we’re not Danbooru & Co”, it would be a bit extreme IMO. Plus, it would be really hard to find some pictures if the only possible search criterias would be the artist(s), characters and licence names.
which is equally valid for the other tags.

personally i wish the tags where separated between the file name and file details since that could solve both interests.
but still wishful, since many kinds of coding gremlins apparently.
missing a one_piece_swimsuit tag make searching non-two-swimsuits a pain as you haft to search all swimsuits. I understand not wanting a million tags but this isn't a small genre. I'd be in favor of adding one_piece_swimsuit tag that included Casual, Competition, School, and Other etc.

Type “swimsuits -bikini -bikini_top” in search box and you will have one piece ones.

far from a perfect solution if the image has both a one_piece_swimsuit and a bikini in it like a beach setting which often have both. putting "swimsuits -bikini -bikini_top" into the search box will remove "one_piece_swimsuit school_swimsuits" from the search results.
Alternatively, "bikini" and "bikini_top" can be decoupled from "swimsuits" to achieve this (although this may need a script to edit all the current posts with those tags).

Don't understand what decoupling/separating "bikini" and "bikini_top" from "swimsuits" changes or does? script know nothing about coding? Are you saying someone would need to go manually edit all 1430 swimsuit pages/57,000 swimsuit post?

What I mean is: it's easy to run a process to automatically remove the "swimsuits" tags from any post that also has "bikini"/"bikini_top" tag(s), but may have to manually add it back to those with a mix of one-piece and bikini swimsuits.

removing the "bikini"/"bikini_top" tags from "swimsuits" tags only to add them back to each other sounds like it accomplishes nothing. removing the tags just to manually add them back that's what makes no sense to me.

i'd be willing to go through the "swimsuits" tags and manually add "one-piece-swimsuit" tag to each image that needs it. "Swimsuit" tag only has 1430 pages if I was to scan 50 to 100 pages a day and manually edit the images it would take me a mouth or less to finish.

You could save a lot of time if you create an implication for “school_swimsuit”, which are almost always one-piece swimsuits. You still would have to tag pictures with OPS but that are not school swimsuits.
