Is there a reason why her name is written backwards on her swimsuit?
Yeah, it's some kind of meme which I don't exactly know where it sterns from, all I remember is Zekamashi (Shimakaze) became a huge thing back years ago, then a lot others followed (I remember some Zekakiyu ones), and I guess this trend never stopped.

It's called "right-to-left horizontal writing" - refer to these sections of the Wikipedia page for more:

That makes sense. I'm familiar with seeing right-to-left horizontal writing used on signage, noren, and that sort of thing. Never seen it used on a school swimsuit name tag before, but I can see it being used given IJN Satsuki's historical time period.
