And nothing of value was lost. Those artists knew really well what they were doing and for what audience. These types of laws are just for good optics however.

Anything real or not that sexualizes even 2D children throws some into a purple rage. If there are not legal sanctions, then credit card companies and even PayPal will refuse service. The fact that it's fictional doesn't carry water with some countries. It is a minefield.
