Funny thing is that the VN takes place between 31st of January and 15th of February and her birthday is not celebrated, nor is it even mentioned in the story.

Not sure if it's related to the mixup of her real birthday's date with another character's: https://typemoon.fandom.com/wiki/Rin_Tohsaka#cite_note-FZ-3 (Citation note 3)

That note mentions this exact date that is in this picture: 3rd of February. They also mention Sakura's as 2nd of March.

After re-read the note: looks like (instead of the mixup I mentioned above) their birthdays were wrongly stated as other dates previously ("誕生日の計算間違い"), and only got fixed afterwards.

So not sure if the VNs were released before or after the fix, then. (i.e. if the VNs were released before the fix AND the wrong birthday's date fell outside the period you mentioned above, then it's reasonable her real birthday wasn't celebrated)

I understand. Makes sense. But anyway, now it looks strange that her birthday is 3rd of February and it isn't even mentioned in the story, when the story takes place during her birthday period. :P

That comment in the note about her birthday and Sakura's is from one "Takeuchi". I don't know who he is. Maybe the writer or someone of the team?

P.S. I can't read "誕生日の計算間違い", I had to use the translator. :P You probably read the whole note in Japanese, I read it in English. :P

Not sure if that refers to the illustrator: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takashi_Takeuchi

If yes, than the other guy must be the writer: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gen_Urobuchi
The wrong birthday date they had originally was/is Feb 4.

Then it's really not reasonable not to celebrate it.

Yes, according to Wikipedia, he is the illustrator who designed the characters and CGs for Fate/Stay Night. He is also the co-founder of TYPE-MOON (the company who developed F/SN).

Gen Urobuchi is actually the writer of Fate/Zero (light novel and anime). But the writer of Fate/Stay Night is Kinoko Nasu (I just remembered this name, Nasu, now when I saw it in Takeuchi's bio). It says there that Takeuchi and Nasu are longtime friends since middle school.

Indeed. Feb 4 still falls into the time period of the main story in the game. It's strange that they don't celebrate it in the story, nor even mention it.
