I think the blindfold had some sort of metaphoric meaning in the game as there was some big lie in the plot that was revealed at some point in the game(after the second ending?), the other female android (A2) never had a blindfold, because, uhm, she knewn the truth or something?

What really baffled me is the "missed opportunity" to reveal 2B eyes during...erm, I am try to avoid spoilers here, well, during that "peak moment" , instead, they reveal 2B's eyes as soon as the very first mission ends (she wakes up in her bed without her blindfold, only to put it back right after).
