Some of these pooled images are flagged for deletion as low-res (Which I agree with) Should we hide them from the index or delete them?
Just delete them if you want. I'd already drop some low-res away and left some else which I thought the art is good, but they are actually a little small : (
The art is great and all, but it's kind of annoying seeing the index filled with mostly low res content, or images that are just within the borderline of being high res (800x1200 or so). Maybe it's just me, but it seems like there have been a lot of them lately. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being a jerk.

in this point, I'm same with you. I couldn't regard 1024x768 as high-res. just I can tolerate if moe has some low-res good art.
what I couldn't admit are 'upscaled' or 'overfiltered' images.
I'm more concerned about the image quality, rather then the image resolution.

Blame PIXIV for that.
I'd love to know why so many people STILL persist in using horrible resolutions for their art. In ages past it was logical because everyone was on crappy 56k or worse, but these days the majority of people (especially those of us into anime and the like) will have good connections, particularly in Japan with their fibreoptics and stuff. Can't understand why people fear change so much (4:3 broadcasts anyone?).
Except 3-4 low-res images a day (good images) i'd start to delete anything under 1500x1500 personally..the low res stuff is increasing at alarming rate. Most of the stuff i see here is "oh hey..this was on pixiv 1 day ago".
I disagree. There is perfectly good material with resolutions <1500. Take a look at post #27145 and tell me you would delete it?
Well..the 1500x1500 was symbolic..but i see a ton of 1000x800 stuff that shouldn't be here. Sure..2-3 images each day isn't gonna hurt, i've posted 1000x800 stuff myself post #75711 ..but when you see floods of 1000x800 stuff everyday..it makes me wonder :/

Don't say it if you don't mean it.

Unless we throttle uploads we are going to see people upload those resolutions. As I've said before I don't have any problems as long as the scan is high quality, and is >1000 on one side. Anything below that will be targeted for deletion.

If admin2 wants to up the minimum resolution, then I'll go along with him, but we will lose some excellent images if we do so.

Currently we have no precise resolution guidelines, so unless admin2 decides to set some guideline, we'll just continue like now. Not a problem for me. My opinion is just that we should stick to high res scans..there are other boards for good low res images.
personally, all scans should be 300dpi (B6:1500x2100, A5:1750x2500) or over. all downscaled 1100x1600 scans failed :p

Agreed completely. I've posted some lower res images too, but I just don't see the point in posting hordes of low res content. Most of it isn't even large enough to garner the highres tag on Danbooru.
We shouldn't delete older images of low res, since we have no other copies here or other places. Unless we can find a replacement, we should go ahead and keep what we have already.

What is the criteria for 'highres' on Danbooru?
besides, lol 4ch /hr
• Maximum file size allowed is 8192 KB.
• Images smaller than 700x700 pixels are not allowed.
• Images greater than 10000x10000 pixels are not allowed.
/hr/ is a waste of space nowadays.

1600x1200, so something that's around 1000x800 isn't considered high res by Danbooru.
I can't remember what resolution/file size petopeto uses to flag 'low-res' images. You know the black/grey bar under the image?
(note:)
300dpi card scans are around 1000x650, thus if you set minimum image resolution at higher than this line, you only accept horrible upscaled card scans.
Consider source availability just not resolution. pixiv arts are available on pixiv :p

I think it's around 1500x1200/1200x1500.

It is difficult for non-Japanese to use pixiv...

One obvious solution for this debate is a 'image size/resolution' blacklist.
