Why two tags for the same character?

Probably someone added a new one after one already existed because the autocomplete didn't find it. It's not uncommon.

Doesn't that make the samsung_assistant a bit unnecessary? Any others - not that I'm seeing any - could fit the [name]_(samsung) format just fine, on top of more than likely having the copyright tag samsung.

AFAIK, there's no other Samsung assistant besides Sam. If there were, there should be more posts for samsung_assistant than for sam_(samsung), as samsung_assistant would comprise all of them, but at this moment, there's actually more posts for sam_(samsung) than for samsung_assistant. It's probably as Dick Dickinson said, someone must have created the other tag when one already existed.

Besides, as Chrissues said, the name tag samsung_assistant is redundant if the copyright tag samsung already exists. It's just like hatsune_miku X vocaloid. A name tag "vocaloid" to comprise all of them is unnecessary since the copyright tag already exists.

I'll be removing the samsung_assistant tag if there are no objections.

As there were no objections, I tried to remove samsung_assistant, but some mod made it a parent tag for sam_(samsung), so it can't be removed; if the post is tagged with sam_(samsung), samsung_assistant is automatically added too. It's so redundant and unnecessary. There's only one Samsung assistant, which is Sam; there's no need of two tags for the same character. And besides, as I said before, there's already the copyright tag samsung.
