Cleaned up the original image to remove halftone dots and dust
ayoooooooooooo there!!! i can understand why you wanted to ~improve?~ these scans, but i have to comment, since most visitors don't care about fixing. First of all, i want to thank you for fixing quite complex artworks back in the day.
So my complains are regarding your neglecting actual cleaning of dust particles, and some stray spots on the Yokos' skin, after/before applying filter(s). Quite visible at 100% viewing. Very common matter, if you ask me, to find quality scans without removing dirt and dust. A lot of my posts fix this trivial neglect.
Next, if you have a keen eye, you should have noticed decayed colours on adult Yoko's legs. You can check with stacking black Overlay layer on top and see. That way you can also easily spot where you didn't clean the skin. You also can stack white Overlay layer to find dust in the dark areas.
And, again you should have noticed the depression in the center. It will be extremely hard to remove completely, and probably only worsen the image. So you need to assess where you can repair. Refer to post #825388.
Please review, share you methods, tools. Ask me if you need any help.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I know I left a bunch of dust, I didn't want to spend a *huge* amount of time fixing everything, so I just removed the big, obvious ones and called it a day! ;) What's suppose to be solid blocks of color are solid blocks of color, there's no blatantly obvious dust or scratches, so I'm satisfied!
I woun't ask you to remove dust if it would take a lot of time. I mostly like to jump in and remove dust and dirt first thing in the scan, then do heavy stuff.
Yes, these posts looks nice, but I would definitley spend some 10-15 minutes to clean it up, in the skin areas. Fixing tones in the paper depression is up to you.
Thanks. Keep posting!

This image was mostly the result of experimenting with new tricks, but since then, I think I've developed a method that could be used to clean up the noise in the darker areas of the skin!
