How are you able to type those symbols in?

Don't worry dear, it's not a dumb question ^_^

If you open Accessories -> System tools (I think, my Windows is in Portuguese) -> Characters map (or something like this) you'll see all the symbols.

I know a shortcut for some: ♥ is alt + 3 on numbers only part, holding alt down while pressing 3. Then release 3 and it'll show up.

♪ is alt + 1 +3 and ♫ alt + 1 + 4

There are a plenty of symbols, just make up your own combos and tell me later! ♪►↨♀Ȣ◄̞ƚ§Ñﾎ£

I see now...but I don't think my keyboard is set up for those shortcuts you have for ♪. Whatever. I'll figure that out someday.

Oh, it's because you have to press alt, hold alt, then press 1, then release 1, then press 3, then release 3, then release alt... Sorry I didn't explain that very well ;_;

I took a long time to understand that on-line because it's a bit complicated, but it's really useful sometimes :-)

Well, depends. I can't live without my emoticons on W Live Messenger, and I'm not a girl. They're just a lot of fun to use.

But outside Messenger, I rarely use emoticons or type faces.

Well, since my emoticons bother you, I will try to write without using any emoticons from on now.

It'll be REALLY hard, but I can do it.

I guess it's not women who uses emoticom all time.

Emotive people like to express theirselves better, and a way to do that is using emoticons. Since internet is "cold", you can't change your voice or your face expression, it won't change anything, emoticons are used to do that for us.

For emotive people we have many many women, some men and kids. This is why asterixvader said women uses emoticom all time. Not that ALL women use emoticom.

An image/emote can speak a thousand words. Though not always coherently.

I love my 6 cat emotes for msn :3
I hate emote floods though.

when I type "not equal" with Japanese console, then ≠ came up.

You can use whatever you want Debbie. You made yourself unique. Don't have to stop if you don't want to. Be yourself. Just try not to annoy the Admins and Mods...like I have before by constantly calling them Overlords and Bosses everytime.
