The sample images are a little larger; more specifically, portrait and landscape images are resized to the same bounds. Previously, they were all clamped to 1400x1000, so portrait images were much smaller than landscape images (often around 800x1000). Now, landscape images are clamped to 1500x1200, and portrait images are clamped to 1200x1500, so they both get the same overall size. This is important when viewing images on a monitor rotated to portrait.
The image resizing in post/show was tweaked to compensate. Previously it would only resize images if they were wider than the screen; now it resizes to fit the size of the window, since otherwise images were too tall for many monitors. This only happens if "Resize Images" is checked in your settings.

The image search is now much faster for large images, in newer browsers.
Previously, if you wanted to search for a 5mb image, you either had to upload the entire image, or thumbnail the image by hand. Now, if your browser supports it, the image will be thumbnailed automatically before uploading. Submit a 5mb image in http://oreno.imouto.org/post/similar, and it'll send a small thumbnail to be searched instead of the whole image (around 100k).
Currently, the only browser I've tested that can do this is Chrome 8. FF4 snapshots probably can too, but I havn't tried it yet.
Note that this won't work well with excessively large images, since browsers aren't too good at those. I can search for a 10000x7000 image once before it stops working. If this happens, it'll just upload the whole file as before. It seems to work fine for typical 300DPI images.

In Chrome and FF4, post uploading will now do a quick image search as soon as you give it a file, while you're typing in tags.
The "Use post browser" setting will use the post browser for (almost) all post and pool links.
I only see the image with none of the other options normally seen on the post browser. Then again I'm running FF 3.6.2petopeto said:

Oooh loving the new sample image sizes, and the click-to-drag function for the vanilla non-postbrowser mode! :D
Try pressing spacebar or doubleclick to bring up the ui?Radioactive said:

Tag autocomplete added to a couple tag forms; needs a reasonably new browser (requires localStorage support).
Searching and sorting is a little fuzzy: tags you've used recently are pushed to the top, prefix matches (tag -> tagme, koru -> morinaga_korune) are preferred over loose matches (tgm -> tagme, oreimo, ichimashi), and more commonly used tags are sorted above less common tags.

Tag auto-complete is really handy, thanks petopeto!
Tag completion now searches tag aliases (mag -> mahou_shoujo_lyrical_nanoha).
There're many other field you can apply tag completion: tag edit ( http://oreno.imouto.org/tag ), tag alias, upload, batch upload...
And an option to disable it is still very appreciated; at least local version (danbooruUP) is much faster than internet-based one when loading. BTW, danbooruUP could record strings be after some metatags like 'source:xxx', 'user:xxx' etc., it's very useful.

Added a simple poll, sorry for it being ugly :|
we're finally doing a server move to save me money, expect downtime in the next 10 days
using some vps to handle thumbnails, please let me know if you see any weird problems..
Well it works, the thumbnail server is fast, and has a low ping.
It does have a 'weird problem' though, that isn't really a 'problem' per se. Page elements seem to load out of sync rather then all at once, like it is only sending one thing at a time in sequential order and waiting for each thing to complete before sending the next. First the background loads, then the thumbnails are downloaded but not loaded, then the page numbers appear at bottom, then the thumbnail placeholders appear, and finally the compete page with thumbnails appears. Barely noticeable since it happens so fast, but it seems to add a slight delay.
Maybe the VPS doesn't support pipelining?

seems like its enabled...one change was from lighttpd to nginx..maybe switch back to lighttpd and see if that helps..
main server is almost ready to be moved to new one....
if you see this, you are on the new server \o/
Hell yeah ! Imouto for ever \o/
Thanks for your hard work :)
Google Reader crazy
began to show a 1000 + messages from a folder with the signatures on imouto

Thumbnails aren't loading now... :(
vps idea is not working well, I'm getting a ssd installed on the server, so thumbs will be slow until thats done
in my case... thumbnails sometimes are okay and sometimes doesn't load everything when a page is complete...
thumbs/site/etc should be nice and fast again...
Thumbs/site/etc. are nice and fast again. Thanks, mai lorudo!
May I ask why the thumbnails are larger than the displayed size? Browsers aren't very good at scaling, they look jagged.
Could you give an example please? Everything seems fine here.mmx3 said:

You can see the fine lines are jagged due to scaling.
It looks about the same in the latest Opera too.
