Heat guns are more tended to be higher temps, ranging from 100(37ºC)-200ºF(93ºC) and the higher end models goes to 700ºF(371ºC)+. Now if you have read Fahrenheit 451, paper ignites at 451ºF. I can't say what kind of glues artbooks and doujins uses, but using hot glue's temperature as an example, it melts at 380ºF(193ºC). Anything above 451ºF would start causing burn marks :)
A hair dryer is hot enough to have melted any doujins' glue i've debinded so far. Heat Gun for quicker result ^^
