It's actually all apprently a plan set by clamp. If you would take a moment to notice, mangas like naruto have almost no delay. Why? Author just has to draw more people fighting each other. ( no offense naruto fans ^_^' ) In CLAMP's works they always go to a length of explaining and conecting various things. That's why such long delays and makes it accetale. Those fans gotta stop complaining. If not it'd turn into some crappy 13 episode show with low budget.
But yeah. X. It's disasters mirrored those in the world, and JPN. in the world and even managed to foretell a few. It's understandable why it was stopped but still saddening. : (
