The ISS is visible from Earth for a few minutes when all the conditions are right. There's some other artificial satellites visible sometimes. Can't say I've had much luck with sighting anything aside from Leonids (which are clearly not artificial).

Have a look here http://www.heavens-above.com/ and find out if anything can be seen for your location...

edit: actually no, it was summer so I suppose they might've been Perseids. Ah well it all looks like tiny streaky lights.
