We have both buruma and bloomers. From the looks of it, the bloomers tag is currently being used for the fluffy pants/underwear that you might get with period European clothes rather than the Japanese sports attire. I don't think that that used to be the case. I guess that someone created the buruma tag to try and distinguish between the two.

It was bloomers, but it apparently got changed a couple months back.
