I don't think so .. that's Shirow Masamuse ... the one who made famous Ghost in the Shell Manga, Apples Seed and few other remarkable manga/anime ... his erotic stuff is just a side distraction .. that's not his "main" thing .. i have seen far worse cases where artists are extremely talented but do nothing other than erotic stuff .. in those case it is indeed a waste of talent.

a side distraction... Shirow doesn't do anything but porn since a decade! It's not just a side distraction, unfortunately. anyway, he is still very talented and his porn stuff is much more better than what other artist draw...

I dont think its a distraction o.O I rather draw porn then anything else because U can work with all types of the way the bodies move or the type of expression that u would only get wit porn :D

The guy's impossible to contact (or contract), "eccentric" as hell, and richer than god. That he still does anything is amazing and that what he does do is high quality porn that follows hentai's old rules (no pubic hair, "monster rape isn't real rape", etc.) is a blessing.

Wow... It's not a "waste of a talent." That is the single most idiotic thing said.... A waste of a talent is having a talent and not using it.. If you don't like what he uses his talent for then don't look at his art. Simple.

There is nothing wrong with doing just erotic either. There are plenty of people who do that sort of thing. Like me, I draw erotic stuff. And people request it. It's not a "waste of talent", closed minded people wouldn't understand though. I happen to really like this post. And it is not a waste of talent. Like Himechan69 said, it's really wasted if someone is not doing something with it. But I don't expect someone like you to understand the concept. :S
