Haru wa murasaki (Mauve is the Color of Spring)

The image for this picture is set in the same timeframe as last year’s, I have used mainly pale, warm tones throughout.
When we think of spring flowers we usually imagine cherry blossom, but I wanted to use another flower for the main subject so I settled for wisteria. It creates a pale mauve curtain.
Wisteria is a flower that often appears in Waka poetry, etc. and I imagined ancient people sitting under these flowers as they composed poems.
A small, green white-eye bird that has come to drink the nectar of the flowers has settled on the dancing girl’s fan. I hope this picture will conjure up an image of the slow passage of time in spring.
Awesome WtfCakes. Thanks!
