Radioactive, this may come as a shock, but I don't ever search for the tag "guro". Putting the disgusting subject material aside, why the hell would I attempt to search for something that is specifically banned from the board? Silly me for assuming the image board abides by its own rules, huh?
My personal objections to the image are not even the case here (if you had read my original post, you would have noticed that I didn't even express my opinion of the image); the point here is that an explicit rule of the board has been broken. Your opinion that the image is "a bit gruesome, but is a work of art" has no bearing on the issue. And attempting to compare guro to tentacles? Are you fucking serious?
That's funny, two posts and your "fed up with the bitching"? I can see how overwhelming that must have been for you.
I don't understand why you can't just admit that you made a mistake. You must have acknowledged it because despite your whining you deleted it immediately, and yet you are still now denying it, putting a completely unfair and biased reason into your deletion comment. It's just childish.
You guys are talking mean about the picture man. >:( I mean come on now at least its not like something that people can't really see it. Its obviously see able.
Ands its not really fair that a mod can post whatever pictures they want. If the rules aid do not post up that kind of work in here, then everyone( even the mods) should follow the rules too.
Why can't change the rules and say do not post up work that isn't seeable??
Prohibited Content In addition, you may not use the Site to upload any of the following: Watermarked: Any image where a person who is not the original copyright owner has placed a watermark on the image.
But there's the "signed" tag for that now, so I guess that should be changed too.
Really, "signed" and "watermark" should be separate: an artist's signature (signed) is very different from a third party's (watermark)--only the latter should generally be considered a fault and photoshopped out...
(Actually, that's a bit of a misuse of the term "watermark"--a watermark is actually something unobtrusive that you don't see unless you're looking for it--but it's good enough...)
We're pretty loose with most of the rules anyway; the point, really, is to explain the direction of the site to new users, but obviously people are much more likely to get that from actually using the site, if they're going to get it at all. (We've thought about moving most of it into a separate posting guidelines page, but it's not a real issue.)
petopeto said: He doesn't want to deal with your constant arrogant sarcasm. I don't see why anyone would. Try not being obnoxious for a change.
I was waiting for you to jump in. It's pretty sad that this is the only thing you could come up with, since I'm right. Then again, I guess all that's left to do is make personal remarks, since there's nothing to argue.

Actually Bunnygirl has a point..i mean...what's the point of having a ToS if a mod or someone else can just post stuff and say "If you don't like it, don't watch it, or blacklist"? If we got a ToS it's because there's shit that everyone doesn't like /globally/. If the thing just becomes subjective (hey i think it's fine and not guro), then you might as well delete the ToS and let people decide if it sucks and should be removed.
Don't want to bump this but the ToS (If you believe they are set in stone) do say 'The Site reserves the right to change these terms at any time.' I was trying to push Bunnygirl toward that, but she wasn't in the mood to read it.
I was wrong that I didn't check with admin2 if it was suitable material to upload, but I will say there are far worse, and nastier, images here. Double standards anyone?
Don't bother replying, as I'm not going to waste my time on this thread.
Radioactive said: Yes. Some of the tentacle images are a lot nastier then this scan.
I entirely agree. This picture is not bad - actually it's pretty ok. A bit disturbing at first, but we need to understand that there are people that like this here.
And, if anyone asks how did I manage to get here, it was through the sushi-girls image. Lol

Guys I suppose this is not an ACG/moe-related scan. Because Aida Makoto is a performance artist, he is not simply a drawing artist really.
Woah...so much heat over something so harmless (it even has a rainbow on it!!). I have to say i love the picture! it is well made, features an old japanese tradition and i do find it moe, so i really appreciate the post. I do see why it can get some people upset (ToS...i don't really get why no guro, furry and grotesque...what's wrong about them??...blacklist ヘ(^_^ヘ)(ノ^_^)ノ )...i guess the solution would be to change the ToS! ○------(^o^)○...hehe, just suggesting <^_^

I didn't know there was a japanese tradition of dismembering classmates and playing cop-cop with you own intestines and LAUGHING ABOUT IT!
Personally I don't like guro, have blacklisted it, and doesn't bitch about it much because it is without debate a FORM of art. Its interesting how some like the context, especially during post-war periods when the economy was bad and everything was a mess and people were jumping out of buildings and hanging themselves left and right.
Interestingly, the japanese came up with the idea that cutting your stomach is a honorable way of dieing. Its incredibly painful as your gastric juice pours out and eats open the wound, looks nasty too, is now considered 'not humane', and is used as a form of TORTURE in some countries where the intestines are extracted for a cut while the victim is tied and wide awake.
That's guro for you.
I recommend some changes to the ToS so that what you are doing (uploading guro) becomes valid, and (-->important<--) so that people place value on the rules set here.

I'll remove it, but seeing as it has been here since August your complaints are a bit late.
