i have so many different kinds of friends into opm right now its kinda scary. one of them is reading the manga, even. its really a feat, considering he rarely reads any manga. hes even considering catching up to the original comic that originated the manga.

Well as long as you saw an episode and then said you didn't like it. That's fine. It's a matter of opinion. "It isn't your cup of tea." You watched one or more episodes and gave your opinion unlike ones who just says it sucks without trying / seeing an episode.

No, you're not the only one. This is not really a place for a change of opinions, but if it makes you feel better, I gotta say that the overblown/wacky humor, or fighting guys don't work for me. Not anymore at least.
its silly but i cant help but want more of genos' ass. nowadays its a hard time for those who prefer deeper plots. most animes feels so shallow and empty. i couldnt stand 2 episodes of shokugeki no soma because of the horrid, criminal-atrocious, ridiculous ecchi (the culinary part was interesting but no, im not tanking that shit just for the food). and it was considered a good anime. the ones considered "bad" fall down an even worse pit. the last very serious anime ive seen that was remarkably good and artistic was zankyou no terror. lain is to me the prime example of what an anime should be.

Ohhh.. i watched that one too!! Also i only read shokugeki no souma. I never watched the anime. I rather read it!! But yeah, and i have watched my fair share of OnePunch Man. But i found it as not my kind and just stopped watching. But who knows, maybe i'll enjoy it. One day.
i think opm has a lot of potential! especially considering its a webcomic which was adapted to manga. this means its much more free from usual thorns and limitations published mangas have to go through!
the manga/anime industry seriously need to be completely and wholeheartedly rethought before the situation gets worse.
the manga probably is less ridiculous than the anime. seriously, i dont even have words in english i know to describe it...
Because they focus usually on just one disaster over an episode the pacing is almost like a regular show (rather than an over the top comedy) which kind of throws me off sometimes but I'm starting to get more into it. You can't deny at least that it brings a breath of fresh air to the industry. Personally I find that those overly serious action shows with 'heavy' spoilerand pretentious dialog like the Fate Series often just become a chore to watch after a while since I just can't take everything as serious as the characters do.
