I think Yande mainly focuses on the beauty of 2D art, which has it's own charm. (And some would say superiority over 3D).

Assuming that with '3D' you mean the definition that is usually used by anime fans to describe pictures/photographs of real-life people, I don't think it fits here since this is clearly not a photography or traced image of a real-life person.

Just because the style is different and less stylized (that's kind of what I meant with the 'semi-realistic') than most works on this site that doesn't mean that it is not 2D art.

If it was traced from a real-life picture or something I would agree but many features in this picture, most importantly the face and the style and proportions of the eyes, are stylized in a anime-ish way so I don't think that '3D' is a term to be used for this picture.

I think I get what you mean though and I didn't mean to diss '2D' or something it's just that this particular work really tickled my fancy. Not just because of the style but also due to it's quality. There are actually many 'semi- realistic' works and artists on this site that I don't like at all. Probably the majority actually. If pulled of poorly it can easily give an 'uncanny valley' vibe.
