Wouldn't they just click the "download larger version" option and get it from there. Doesn't seem like it would stop bootleggers from bootlegging.

I thought it had been mentioned before but I might be wrong.

Fireattack did say however that normal users aren't supposed to DL high res dakis before (https://yande.re/post/show/394051 ) so I kind of assumed it was for that reason.

If the original is a PNG, that option won't help them get the original.

Not sure about the md5 direct links, though.

Doesn't matter if PNG or JPEG. The "download larger version" will be simply replaced with sample images. And if PNG, the "Download PNG" link will also be totally removed.
