Edit | Respond

Talk about an intrusive fucking signature/watermark.
I don't get why deviantart ever accepts that stuff if it's trying to be an artist community.

Stroked lines FTL.
I was tempted to just delete it when I saw it.
I also wish people would use the source field for its proper purpose...

What is the purpose? There are already artist tags, so what else can you say than where you find it, or leave it empty.

If you check the history you'll see it has been changed since my comment.
Check the history..? ~_~

I don't see that option on the image.
This was the history change "source cahnged from Romi-CHan to DeviantArt"
The source is never the uploader. That is just fucking arrogant.

What's with the watermark?
A fucking abomination. That's what it is.
For the artist's sake, If I made an artwork and spent so much time on it, yea I would want people to know I did it and if someone took it and posted it on a random site with out my permission then I would REALLY make the watermark noticeable.

BUT since this is just a fanart the tiny watermark isn't so bad. Now if it was an original piece, hahaha you guys would be insane for complaining about the watermark. That's ownership and copyright business there, but since it's a fanart then the watermark is just a small shrug.

Oh and the reason why I'm protecting them is because I'm a Graphic Designer and Studio Artists. So "contracts" and Copyright is VERY important to artists, because Art Theft is a very COMMON thing and we don't like it, so call it paranoia, sorry. XD

This faggotry again..you never learn don't you..You're not an artist, you're just copying the original work. Stop pretending you did something new. Everyone out there can do a vector. Watermarks just ruin the image and ( you think ) enlarge your e-penis.

You need to put your glasses on.
It's distracting and tasteless. It's artistically indefensible.
Looks like I missed nothing while I was gone for the weekend ^^

hmm I think there was a little mis-communication here. ^^;

when I said, "For the artist's sake, If I made an artwork and spent so much time on it, yea I would want people to know I did it and if someone took it and posted it on a random site with out my permission then I would REALLY make the watermark noticeable." = I meant, if it was ORIGINAL not fanart. This is No Way original to the ultimate meaning of the word. As for the "artist's sake" part, I meant simply, "for the poor fool who thinks this is artwork sake" I should have put quotation marks around it to emphasize the sarcasm.

Sorry that you feel offended but I don't do Vector because it's just like copypasta. This would NEVER be my type of art work. I do original art work like painting, magazine layouts, and such, not little fanart, not that it's bad or anything, it's just I don't feel that copying an image and pasting it in dev-art for major attention is real 'art work'.

All I was saying is that though watermarks are extremely annoying beyond reason, some artists (especially original artists) want to let people know that they're the one's that did it. Yes I agree that this and many other fanart watermarks are ridiculous and don't really deserve them because it was NEVER really their artwork, thus they can't really cry if they see it somewhere else and such.

I don't see why my little fact was offensive to others, I do apologize if it was taken the wrong way, but to go out and insult someone that practically stated a simple fact was really funny. ^^ Makes me wonder if you're a part of /b/ too, if not then just ignore that.

To make it fully clear: I agree the Watermark sux old fellow balls, but watermarks aren't always bad IF it's an Original artwork, like pure original as in your characters, your ideas, and such. In all honesty, people who think vector fanart is original makes me want to punch them and fanart itself is okay as long as the person realize that it's not their artwork but someone else.

I do have a lil heart for fanart and if someone commission me then hell yea I'd do it for them once I find some time. A crappy example of one of my artwork is this: http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n92/sanchu269/quibbloavi.jpg
(This is a dual work between Kosen and I, which was a wallpaper I made for my desktop then made it into an avatar.) it's very "meh" but it's what I can dig up for now. *shrug* Anyhow, sorry that I offended ya guys ;P (or pissed you off, whatever's the case)
