^ ya its very good, unless u cant stand gore. I find season 1 (higurashi no koro ni) and season 2 (higurashi no koro ni kai)... spoilerless gory then season 3 (Umineko no koro ni)

umineko isn't a season 3. They're completely different stories.

I only considered it the 3rd season because its the 3rd release of the "When They Cry" series by 07th expansion. spoilerAlso as the group explained, a few 3rd season characters are analogous to their first 2 releases such as keiichi to battler and reappearing charactes like frederica bernkastel. But as you said, they are 2 completely different stories and to avoid confusion, it should not be called the 3rd season, xD bad frost

that was part of a fandisk, if u were to include all of the extra stuff, kai wouldnt even be the second release by the group (ex. Daybreak, Matsuri) and you should know OVAs are not considered a season. The main releases are Higurashi no Naku koro ni with the question arcs followed by Kai, the answer arcs to Umineko no naku koro ni question arcs which will be followed by Chiru, the answer arcs, and continuation of the Umineko story.

The first season is really just evil laughs and [mindless] gore, but the rest of the series is beautiful. It's a personal # 1 fav. The first season is supposed to thrill you, which it successfully did, but it was pretty much filler. Kai is wonderful though. It makes everything click and makes the series well worth the watch. everyone should give it a little try. If you don't like the first season...skip it you won't miss anything but Yandere/yangire. There's a bit gory in kai but not really. I personally liked the thrill and phycological thriller stuff 1st season, but if it weren't for kai I would've been underwhelemed. : 3

1st was nice, except for the inconsistant drawing. 2nd was awesome. 3rd (Rei)... crap.
