I mean, if we using "could be AI" to delete artworks then a lot of other artworks could be marked as such. But back to your question, going through usual signs of AI images (https://danbooru.donmai.us/wiki_pages/ai-generated): 1) image resolution is good 2) metadata is clear of AI stuff 3) no abnormalities on the image (at least I can't see any) 4) sure, artist seemed as brand new at that time, but they didn't release huge amount of artworks in a short period of time
I know these signs are not an ideal way of identifying whether image in as AI artwork or not, but reason "could be AI" is not ideal too
And without the original it's worth deleting. I think there's always something a little dishonest about editing an artist's works to suit your own needs and putting it up publicly.
