please keep sharing your stuff
good luck with the internets debbie-san ^_^

I found these manga drawing books at VK, but they are in Polish. Would anyone care to translate them, or perhaps write up a transcript so us Englishers can check them out? By the illustrations, they look really cool and useful.
There are 60 total and they are about 24 pages each with only a little text.

Thank you for your time.

If no one here speaks Polish or wants to translate, I can run it through Google Translate, but that would take a long time and who knows what the result would be lol :$

I'd really like to try, but I don't promise anything. I'm busy recently (yeah, school), but MAYBE later I will find some time. I can also ask my friends for help with that! ^-^

That's fine man/miss; back in school, I remember spending 10-12 hours a day with homework and everything so it's understandable! ^_^;

We're pretty patient around here, and anything at all would be a great addition to the collection!

Also, does anyone know where this is?
The Best of Wizards Basic Training: Heroic Anatomy
http://www.amazon.com/How-Draw-Heroic-Anatomy-Training/dp/0976287455/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410200532&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=heric+anatomy

I keep finding these twice-compressed copies that have locks and links to passwords, but the links are actually a bunch of surveys and offers. I got tired of looking... hah ._.
If someone could find this I could retrieve the links to the others they pretty easy to find if I remember .

I have some bad news - probably I won't be able to translate these books. My father said I spend too much time at the computer and I should study more. I'm also preparing for three contests, so I have a lot of work... Plus 60 books are too much for one person, even if they are short... I'm very sorry. If you want, you can ask one of Polish scanlation group for help, for example Ningyo, Dream-Victims or Projekt Manga. Once again, I'm sorry, but I can't do this.

Thank you, I'll take a look!

I'm searching most books that shows images about 'chibi' cute characters ><

But I can't find nothing ><

I have another question... there is a tutorial on youtube that explain really well how to pass a drawing in photoshop and 'clean' the drawing so that its ready to be painted with photoshop?

I like also all those reflects, stars, shades, inside the big eyes... but I can't understand how to add effects like that ><

This is the first time I try all of this... so I'm confused >>

It was probably out of line for me to ask such a big project of you or any individual, anyway lol. Not to mention that I'm finding myself with far less time than usual myself :$

Anyway, good luck with the contests and school, thanks for offering at least. I will look up those groups, though if it comes down to it, I'll do the thing with Google Translate, it can't be that bad.

Now, I'm a newbie too, but from what I've read and heard it seems that knowing what to do means knowing how light acts on the eyes irl and what looks good in practice. Same with painting except you also have to know how different blend modes and adjustment layers work and use them to affect the colors.

And could you please post a link to the video? Thank you!

ps : how to make a pattern in the tshirt? I tried Pattern overlay, but it doesmt permit the option 'Multiply' so it was not good... I see many patterns in manga's pictures, and are definitively not made by hand....

I may not understand, are you trying to shade where the cloth folds?

I would recommend looking at fashion galleries or books on drawing clothing.

What I do when I shade is make a new layer on top of the drawing with the "multiply" blend mode and draw dark blue or other dark color with low opacity where the shadows are; not the best way maybe but works OK for me.
In any case, this may be a subject for another thread
Sorry if I could not be of more help.

I mean, a pattern, how to color adding a pattern (not a flat color ) If you use a flat color it's easy by using multilply.. I mean, if I want to add a pattern, if I add a pattern on the skirt or tshirt, the multiply don't works anymore with patterns... thats why i dont know how to color patterns...

Like for example in this image... se the pattern of the skirt? It's not made handly, it's a pattern added when coloring the lineart...

http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/321/a/f/anime_clothing_guide_japanese_version_by_kayanimeproductions-d5lbsr8.jpg

Where I can ask these kind of techinque questions? Thanks! :)

Ok I think I see what you mean, and I apologize for any misunderstanding.
But I must disagree *this was definitely done "by hand" over several layers not with any kind of pattern tool. I may be wrong as I am not so experienced with CG coloring, but as far as I know there is no easy way to get this affect and also have it follow the "shape" of the skirt.

A good place to go for this would be CG tutorials on Deviantart or Youtube but as not many people can afford (or successfully pirate) PS you might try looking for Gimp tutorials as well.

Again, I'm sorry if I could not be of anymore help, mebe someone else here can help?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/321520201563?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It will cost me all my savings cuz of the heavy shipping fees, So i wanted to know before hand if someone would hold my hand through scanning the pages and glue them back to there original form ;_;

Also we are gonna need a jap scanlation group to translate it into english, but i think that's the easy part.

Denki, I hope you didn't leave this thread for good T_T

Cool link. I was actually curious as to how it was done myself I did not know it was this simple.

I have a question, now. Does anyone know why only the first 5 volumes of "Sketching Manga Style" are in English form Graphic-Sha and not the rest? There are over 30 in Chinese available here, under the "How to draw manga" tab:

I actually found a really good-sounding tutorial here, right after I posted the question:

I'm going try it later today and see if it helps, as well.

Here all the sites I've gathered so far, you guys have probably seen all of them tho :)

This one kinda sucks because only one person can borrow the books at a time, like a real library. :/

Not really tut book places but lots good finds in that direction.

Not even drawing but lots great books here too.

There was this Brazilian blog I found this one day, the whole site was in spanish but great books in english and the dark ones took it down o_o

Sometimes they post package downloads on Youtube and DA but you have to know where to look :D
