That's your opinion, don't make it sound like everyone thinks so. Haruhi was hyped and overrated, but it still has some interesting philosophical points. You call Yurippe Haruhi v2? Then Shana, Taiga, Louise and Nagi are also clones and some kind of "versions"???

Yurippe isn't irritating and stupidly imposing.

She has a lot more personality, which makes her likeable.

Yuri and Haruhi are both jerks. And I really think both are really great franchises, but both the female leads are pretty terrible people. Yuri is a bully to poor Tenshi, as well as everyone else in the SSS Group, and Haruhi got Mikuru drunk and threw her in a lake.

I also thinks thats Yurippe is very like Haruhi ^^' As I watch the first episode of Angel Beats! I was thinking ~wow soooo haruhis xD~ and I was never thinking thats Shana etc. are like Haruhi o.O.... But I don't think thats that is bad thats Yurippe remember me very on Haruhi ^^ (even the look is similar) ^^°
Aaaand for me has "Angel Beats!" much more parallels to "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu" ^^

I bet if the character designs weren't so similar (and not animated by Kyo-Ani), people wouldn't even be bringing up Haruhi, despite the similarities they share. People say that Haruhi and Yuri act alike, well, Haruhi and 99999 other anime heroines act alike as well.

Honestly, I don't see the parallels you're talking about at all, other than common genre elements that I can find in more than 300 other series.

Haruhi is always mischievious, happy and rarely gets frustrated.

Yuri is ALWAYS serious, a lot colder and gets pissed off... like every chapter.

Yeah I noticed that too - though i haven't watched much of the show, that stood out. And Tenshi is a bit like Yuki too.

Again, there are many characters that are more like Yuki and Haruhi than Yuri and Kanade on different series, but many people are way too on the surface and take notice of Angel Beats! because of the similar character designs (i.e. they can't see past the looks) and FIND ways that the characters are similar rather than see that they're very different aside from small aspects.

I can't stand Haruhi's character. I had to stop watching after a couple of episodes. I find Yurippe a lot more tolerable, although I'm still not a big fan of her personality. :B I agree that she would be compared to Haruhi much less if not for her character design, though.

Anywho, I'm a Kanade fan. :D And TK. GET CHANCE AND LUCK!

Well she has some similar mannerisms and the spastic way she does things and the bossy attitude.

Because KyoAni has done all of animations that come from KEY (Air, Kanon, Clannad), and in case you didn't realize, Maeda is a major staff member of KEY. And if you ALSO DIDN'T KNOW Maeda is the main writer for AB! I don't know if I can make it any clearer than that.
