My thinking is, people want to know where I got the image from. The parent of an image might not necessarily be the source!

I think it would be better to use the official source of the original image.

If photoshop using parent post as the base image, source is not required (post #1106815).
But if the original image is not uploaded, then you can use official source (post #1174095).
parent-child link is enough.

PNG returns 404

Edit; Strangely, opening the link in new tab, it shows the 404. However, I cleaned the url of most search tags and hit Enter and it suddenly loads? Can't replicate the initial conditions even after clearing cache, yes it still shows 404 when opened in new tab, but just hitting enter on same page after that loads it(refresh icon doesn't do anything though).
