DRM? All I know is that graphics tend to fail much more epically on the PC as well as the FPS displays. But that only applies to 90% of them. If you have one of the newer 30" PC's it isn't a problem.
chika chan made it sound like i live in some place that doesn't have external hard drives...ChikaneHimemiya said:
Ah yes, seems sort of like Debbie's case. Which is a bit why I'm glad I'm in a country where that is NOT a problem. Xd Way to go external hard drives.
um... well... either way... hardrives... whether external or not... are expensive... a smaller file is much cheaper... plus i'd rather use a flash technology drive over a disk technology drive...
No, it's just that you made it sound like a luxury when in fact they are little over 7000¥ or 80$ or 59€ Xd
yeah... i guess you should say that you're lucky that 7000 yen is not a big deal to you chika chan...
Maybe..But well, I guess I don't really know how to respond to that one natsumenatsu Xd

Now the CNN is just directed to Childhood obesity. The topic at hand is for overall obesity in all age range. What's the issue here now? Mcdonalds? (heh ^^) Joking aside, according to the CDC the male obesity stat is at 30% and for ever 10 years of age the number increase about 2.5%. For the girls, the results are around the same with a difference in 1-2%.
What might be the cause of this? Combination of poor athletism, mcdonalds, WOW and social life?

I remember something about a program that allows one to upload a URL links onto Moe/Danbooru. Does anyone heard of such a thing?

"Obesity comes down to eating too much and not being active enough, a psychologist said."
That caption for the article is really as simple as it is. If you consume more calories then you burn off, you'll gain weight.
I would also go as far to say that the majority of people who consume the supposedly recommend 2000-2500 calories per day are nowhere near active enough to burn that many calories. If you live a sedentary lifestyle you could be fine with 1000 calories per day. Grazing all day long on high-carb/low-fat food and not eating big meals (or eating out) also goes a long way in keeping your weight down.
The lack of self control some people seem to have is the most important factor. You DO NOT need to eat every time you feel a tinge of hunger in order to survive or have a healthy life. In all seriousness, severely obese people could easily survive an entire month drinking only water and taking vitamins (granted don't do this, because it could cause health problems) before having a real need for more calories.
This of course is from my point of view as someone who has never been overweight. I'm a 5'11" male, slim frame, not particularly active, don't really work-out much, eat whatever I want which usually ends up totaling ~1000 calories per day on average, and my weight fluctuates around 135lbs (the bottom end of a healthy BMI for my height). It really isn't all that hard. With all the low fat, low calorie foods in the supermarkets nowadays (even those not marketed at being so), I have no clue how people are even able to eat 2000+ calories per day without eating out.

I'm 5"10, 170. I run about 2-3 times on a good week and I probably intake about 1.25-1.75k calories a day depending on how sleepy i am :) Due to my schedule i only eat twice a day. A minor meal during lunch and a decent sized meal during dinner.
ps: You'll never notice how many miles you've ran till you're driving home tired, lol ^^. I probably get a good 6-9miles when i go run with my friends.

O.o interesting thread! Well before I go to reply Id just like to say that this thread has reached 1000 replies! XD Thanks everyone for making it possible Xd.
Edit: Nevermind I just fixed the problem but that's not what I'm referring to. I was referring to an automatic uploading program, one that could upload images from certain sites to Moe/Danbooru effortless.van said:

Okay then..well since we're talking about obesity I like to say that I'm not really obese or anything but I do eat a lot. It might be because of my high metabolism for my age. I eat almost anything that looks tasty.

Maybe. But that's pretty good ( I think ) I eat a number I things but do excercise everyday. Though maybe drinking has something to do with it as well? I read something on that somewhere.Mr_GT said:

If you really want to combat obesity, you have to ENFORCE policies that can help offset it. EVERYONE know how to lose weight. Eat right (as in don't consume too many calories, how many depends on the individual's height and build) and some moderate exercise. That's it! It's not rocket science.
If you want people to actually CHANGE their habits, tough luck. Best to start at school and actually encourage healthy behavior instead of installing soda machines and selling pizza at the cafeteria.

I don't care to engage in this discussion - is people's own choice how healthy they want to be. Some smoke, some drink, others sell their spare organs and some live in a gravy boat. Whatever just don't bother anyone with it and especially don't bother me with it >.>
I would like to point out that you missed a very big pun opportunity in your sub-topic though. Surely weight and soaring don't go together very well weight and expansion on the other hand..., there are others I'm sure heh. Sorry, bored.

Yup! The Winter Olympics 2010! My main interest is the Bobsleigh race, skeletal race, and biathlon(Because it's really random to see people marathoning ice-skiing and then picking up guns to shoot at stuff) XD
