US 66 was one of the first National Highways constructed in the 1920s connecting small towns from Chicago to Los Angeles. These small town gas stations and motels thrived during that time until Interstate Freeways built in the 1950s bypassed them. Da tengzi captures that vintage look before these places went out of business and are now abandoned.

Interesting, had to note the sign offers Wi-Fi, effectively translating such businesses to today's era.
