The color looks a bit washed out on this scan (especially the red tone). Not sure if the paper were coated with something special?

FWIW it looks good to me. It's nice to see a more subdued red when so often they're bleeding in most images. If anything I would say this is a realistic hue for clothing colors.

No, my monitor is the Dell U2410, color calibrated by Spyder 3 Elite.

This one is a little bit yellowish, which affects red color most obviously. Besides that, the saturation and contrast look pretty close to "digital image style" for me.

I don't have any calibrated monitor, but I use the same monitor to view digital image for years so I think it's ok to compare.

And your scan seems slightly dark (to be more specific, pure white is not calibrated to 255,255,255), which is very common for scan (and safe choice, better than over clip the colors).

Yeah I don't usually make white fully white (and black fully black) because the result usually not desirable.
