So, anything happening with the 10 year anniversary? Or is Kyoani still betraying the fans?

If only Nagaru Tanigawa had not betrayed them in the first place, becoming suddenly unable to write any new story, because he is paralyzed by the fear of betraying the fans… No new novel  → no new anime to promote it.

At least, with the double vol. 10, we have a sort of conclusion, even if everything is not really answered (where is spoiler?). I personally consider that the Haruhi series is definitely finished/aborted.

There is enough material to continue the series. That there hasn't been any new material in a while isn't relevant. There's still more then enough left for Kyoani or someone else to adopt into anime.

I’d like to agree with you, but you seem to be forgetting that such an anime is just a promotional product for the original light novel. Because of that and the law of the business, if there is no reason to help the novel series to be sold again with the release of a new volume, KyoAni will not put any effort and money to continue the anime adaptation.
