Never thought I would see a new Higurashi anime. I wonder if it's a remake or new material.

Well that's a little depressing. The production values look no better than the original show, and Watanabe Akio's style does not suit this show or these characters at all in my opinion.

The color palette is so gaudily bright, unless they're planning to strip out the thriller/horror themes and make it a shallow slice of life show this style is just jarringly out of place.
