Lately most Megami Magazine pin up did not use background. Just plain white. I wonder why?

The publisher of Megami (and Animedia), Gakken Plus, sold the whole anime magazine branch to another company earlier this year, since then I see very obvious corner-cutting (mainly in another magazine they publish, Seiyuu Animedia, which I also read frequently).

Probably related.
