You haven't seen nodame? You should watch it, it's very similar to H&C in style and feel :)

Honey and Clover is unparalleled in the sense that I'm yet to see another anime that makes me want to begin an epic bike journey across a country for 'self discovery'. Pretty much everyone I show the anime to comes out wanting to do one.

Ahaha, that's definitely one area where H&C was better than Nodame, I had that feeling too :D Unfortunately, living in the UK it's not something I'd feel inclined to do, unless I wanted to end up destitute and bikeless within the first few days anyway heh.

There are plenty of bike paths/routes in the UK where you won't get mugged.
