ppl with malicious intents will always find a way to rip off things somehow. there are a few who actually care about finding an adequate resolution version of a picture, but most of rip off things ive seen are actually just ridiculous, they use minuscule pictures expanding them and the result is a disaster. ceasing to share pictures for the sole of reason of "trying to stop" those people is like using dynamite to kill a rat. its counterproductive, and id say its even worse, because it wont "kill the rat" in fact. what we can do to help the artists is to share their art and their pages and their shops, and always give them credit, and recognize they are the key element behind every picture. this consciousness is the only thing that can actually work against rip offs without backfiring. little by little its possible that people realize how hard artists have to work to produce something, and RESPECT them and their works properly.

in my shitty opinion again i think its correct to share dakimakura, dojins, magazine, posters scans and so on. obviously, those products exist in a very limited quantity, and its impossible for every interested person to have one. not to mention buying from overseas can be extremely costy and difficult. its very important to support the artists you love, but it must not be something imposed. it must be something spontaneous of the person; each one gives what they can give. its not fair someone cant enjoy art because they dont have money or conditions. everyone has the right to culture and knowledge. its a human right. fuck the money.
yes, in practical terms artists need money to survive too, and thats why if you >can< support an artist you appreciate, you should.
tl dr what we do is a little "wrong" (not actually wrong but lets say against the laws) to counter the bigger wrong (that is the precarious condition artists and people find themselves into)

and being honest i dont think the rip offs are that bad. i mean, sometimes the artist isnt interested on making more of the product, or the enterprises dont have interest or there arent financial conditions and so on. but neatly done rip offs can make someone happy. i mean, the fans who acquire the product. so... well, its earning money with someone elses hard work, but i believe if the rip off ppl were rly considerate, they could try contacting the artists and making a deal with them. and ofc giving them proper credit on the product description. i think this would be a good temporary solution, at least. problem is, i have the feeling most rip offers dont even know who was the artist that made the picture they are using! this is the level of ignorance... and of unimportance of the artist.
