I honestly cannot believe that there's going to be a K-ON! movie. I have no idea how they're going to fill up an hour and a half of this. Regardless, if it airs by the time I'm in Japan this December or by August of 2011, I'll watch it anyhow, being the large K-ON! fag that I am.

They could probably just do a side story, or make the movie fit somewhere into the time frame of the TV episodes. Or go into the future and show the girls reforming the band and going pro. ( ﾟ▽ﾟ)/

Seeing as how it's going to be a theatrical movie; I think it's going to span the usual hour and half.

That wouldn't be as great for me; I'd rather have a sequel movie, especially since the series has ended already. Movies that take place during the series are best to be made when the series is still airing, not after it's ended. If I could choose, I'd want it to cover the long forgotten goal of performing at the Budokan (seriously, I swear I'm the only one left who remembers that this was HTT's original goal).

I knew this news for the reason from korean Naver post.
Anyway, the information is not accurate. Korean Naver people says February 29, 2011 to be released.
Japan TBS TV website is one that says 2011.

Hnnn... I'm sure we'll all be expecting more moe.

There is no February 29th in 2011. Next leap year is 2012. So it's either February 28th or March 1st if that information is correct.

That being said, I'm looking forward to this regardless.

More likely it's someone's way of joking "BIG SCOOP!!! K-On! movie comes out February 29, 2011!!", with the joke being many people won't notice that the date doesn't exist and will pass the "news" along. (￣▽￣)ノ
